“So impressed with that one from Alfresco Love Sounds, an indie rock trio from Birmingham. Solid track that one, came out of nowhere that band, but I am glad they made their way to me” - Emily Pilbeam, BBC Radio 6 Music

Suit in the Attic explores the modern tendency to drift into work that doesn’t suit us, and to sideline our human needs and connections in the pursuit of money and status. This track is written from the perspective of an artist reluctantly exploring their options, alternative prospects, and whether they want to join the ‘army in black’ to put food on the table.
As a contrast to the full-volume ending, the track leaves the listener with a ringing in their ears that fades into a field recording of waves lapping at the side of a lake. In this moment of tranquillity, we ask ourselves, “Is this the only way?”
Sonically, Suit in the Attic evolves from an electro-acoustic bop into a gritty electric guitar chug, ending with more swirling ring-shift modulators than you can shake a suit at. Recorded and produced in Tom’s home studio in Birmingham, Suit in the Attic pairs acoustic and electric guitars with driving drums, organs, and field recordings.
Just don’t look back
‘Cause there’s an army in black
They’re shouting, “Come to us, come to us.
